At Rosemundy Cottage, we are delighted to have our environmental commitment recognised by being shortlisted for the GoldStar Award operated by the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Rosemundy Cottage is just one of eleven Bed and Breakfasts in the UK, one of 6 outside Cornwall, and the only one in Wiltshire. This follows the first silver and then the first Gold GTBS award in Wiltshire, renewed on inspection in 2011.

The Goldstar Awards are a recognition of the best of the best, said Andrea Nicholas, Director of the Green Tourism Business Scheme. The Awards are intended to honour the highest GTBS achievers of the last 12 months in terms of innovation, ambassadorship and cost savings. The businesses shortlisted for the final this year, were out of over 2,400 possible contenders. Everyone is an exemplar in the promotion and practice of sustainability. Unfortunately, there can only be a handful of overall winners but I have been hugely impressed by the efforts made by all the finalists. They have demonstrated how it is possible to be environmentally conscious and successful and are prime examples of how going green makes good business sense.

In the same week we hear that TripAdvisor is proud to congratulate Rosemundy Cottage Bed & Breakfast on earning the prestigious 2012 Certificate of Excellence award. Our travellers consistently commend your property with the highest praise, and we recognise your 5 rating as an exceptional achievement. Only the very best in the business are awarded a Certificate of Excellence.

This demonstrates that being environmentally friendly, using local and homemade quality produce gains a high level of guest satisfaction, and the unannounced visits by VisitBritain Inspectors results in 4 Star quality assessment.

Alongside the Kennet and Avon canal, within Devizes and a short walk from the variety of quality restaurants and attractions in the town centre, Rosemundy Cottage is praised for a tranquil but convenient location. Devizes is in the centre of Wiltshire with good bus and road routes to Bath and Salisbury as well as nearby Avebury, Lacock and Stonehenge.

All the bedrooms are en-suite, well equipped, and one is on the ground floor, with level access through the dining area from the car park. There is a large sitting room, with range of maps and guides for guests to use, and is one of the places that complimentary tea and homemade cakes are served on arrival. Alternatively guests can sit on the patio, near the heated pool and BBQ, available in the summer, or on the canal terraces to watch the passing boats and feed the ducks. A guest office and free wi-fi is available.

Breakfast is included and is very popular, attracting the Wiltshire and the EnjoyEngland Awards. It consists of local and homemade produce.
