Bournemouth beach is the most ‘Instagram-worthy’ beach in Britain

TravelSupermarket has uncovered the top 25 most popular UK beaches on Instagram after analysing hashtags used for over 1,100 beaches and Bournemouth comes out on top

The county of Dorset is not only home to the most popular beach in the UK, but to a total of five of the most popular UK beaches featured in the top 25. These include Chesil Beach (11), Monmouth Beach (12), Weymouth Beach (18) and Sandbanks Beach (25).

Here are the top 10 beaches in Britain according to Instagram hashtag use:

1. Bournemouth Beach (#BournemouthBeach) – 79,500

2. Herne Bay (#HerneBay) – 77,500

3. Scarborough Beach (#ScarboroughBeach) – 76,800

4. Fistral Beach (#FistralBeach) – 61,300

5. Watergate Bay (#WatergateBay) – 59,500

6. Botany Bay (#BotanyBay) – 54,100

7. Robin Hood’s Bay (#RobinHoodsBay) – 44,100

8. Crosby Beach (#CrosbyBeach) – 34,100

9. Kynance Cove (#KynanceCove) – 25,900

10. Formby Beach (#FormbyBeach) – 23,200
