Local baby shop raises 350 for infant school

When The Baby Store decided to raise money for Christchurch Infant School, they got their thinking caps on and decided to do something a little bit different. The store was emptied of all stock, and turned into a carnival games extravaganza. The store managed to raise over 350, which they donated in books to the local school.

The stores owners, Joanna Holburn and Carla Antonie, and their five employees were dressed up in costume for the whole day, and hosted traditional games such as Hook A Duck, Basketball and Balls In A Bucket to name a few.

The store donated over 350 worth of books to Christchurch Infant school, which will go a long way to helping the pupils to develop their reading skills. Headmistress of the school, Jane Ashenden, commented; We are very grateful to The Baby Store for their wonderful donation. All the children are very excited by the new books in the library, and are looking forward to taking them home to read.

Speaking from the store in Bargates, Christchurch, Carla commented; The Baby Store is very pleased to be involved with the local community. Many of the parents from the school are customers at the shop, so its a pleasure to hear about the positive effect the books have had on the children.

The Baby Store stocks arange of prams, cots, clothes and other nursery accessories can be found at 85 Bargates, Christchurch or online at www.cotsandprams.co.uk.
