The data for the report is gathered from a monthly survey of franchisees and should therefore be considered as indicative rather than factual. The results show the average asking price in the country is now 352,529, a rise of 1.1% since August 2010. The story is similarly positive with the number of country buyers increasing steadily over the last year to 58% higher than in August 2010.

In Greater London, the average asking price has gone up by 9.3% from August 2010 to 556,096.

Despite the turmoil in global economic developments over the summer months, the UK property market has continued to hold up well with some particular bright spots. The family house market continues to prosper both in London and, increasingly, in the outlying country areas where the time to sell has halved to seven weeks as the market has picked up in recent months.
