Join Dorset magazines food writer Christine McFadden for our exclusive Readers Day at idyllic Littlebredy in the Bride Valley
In conjunction with Liz Eaton of Littlebredys historic Walled Garden, award-winning cookery teacher and food writer Christine McFadden invites you to join her for a creative day of cooking in the relaxed setting of her spacious home in the hamlet of Littlebredy in west Dorset.
The days theme will be Seasonal Summer Vegetables and you will be using produce grown in the Walled Garden. After an introduction to the gardens history and a tour by Liz, you will harvest a selection of mouth-watering produce including young broad beans, waxy new potatoes, baby courgettes and more, before making your way back to the kitchen for a hands-on cooking session. Under Christines expert guidance, you will create a range of imaginative dishes using these delicious fresh vegetables, local cheeses, meat and fish, suitable for a range of occasions from a simple supper to an elegant dinner party.
Then relax with a glass of wine before enjoying a delicious lunch based on the dishes you have made. There will be a chance to chat with Christine and Liz over coffee and take a stroll by Bridehead Lake after lunch.
This day is only available to readers of Dorset magazine and will be held on Friday 17 June from 10am-3.30pm at a cost of 85 per person (maximum 7 people).
