Dorset magazine readers enjoyed a special cookery day with celebrity chef Lesley Waters at beautiful Minterne House, home of the Churchill and Digby families since 1620.

Dorset magazine readers enjoyed a special cookery day with celebrity chef Lesley Waters at beautiful Minterne House, home of the Churchill and Digby families since 1620.


Dorset magazine editor, Helen Stiles and Managing Editor, Anita Newcombe met Lesley Waters and Henry Digbyas well as a large group of Dorset magazine readers at Minterne House, Minterne Magna. We started the daywithcoffee and delicious fudge brownies. Then, followinga welcomewith somehistory of the housefrom Henry Digby, (12th Lord Digby of Minterne House), we moved through to the originalkitchen where Lesley provided a fascinating cookery demonstration.Dishes included a delicious baked lamb, a gorgeous fidget pie and many other treats. Following the demonstration a talk on wines was given by Andrew Kindness.


Dorset magazine readers then enjoyed a scrumptious lunch with all the dishes prepared in the morning.There were some lovely moments of nostalgia when Dorset magazine reader Mary Batt remembered meeting her husband at Minterne House and Josie Taylor remembered bouncing on a trampoline inside Minterne Houseat a National Association of Youth Clubs event.


Celebrity chef Lesley Waters iswell known for her television appearances on Ready, Steady Cook, Great Food Live and This Morning. The Lesley Waters Cookery School offers regular workshops at Minterne House in the West Dorset countryside at Minterne Magna.


Beautiful Minterne House is located in 1,300 acres of delightful gardens and countryside. It is a private family home and seat to the 12th Lord Digby.
