The inaugural winner of this award impressed with their internationally-inspired dishes
New for this year, our first ever Formal Dining Experience award was kindly sponsored by NFU Mutual Wessex. Judges were in search of the restaurant that offers the best dining experience - everything from the décor to the dining, including the service, the local sourcing and quality of the food was taken into account. Formal Dining doesn't necessarily mean silver service in a formal setting; this award also embraces restaurants who take a more modern 'relaxed excellence' approach to top-end dining.
This year's finalists are…
La Fosse, Cranborne - here you'll find a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere where guests can enjoy delicious food, which is sourced locally, using only the finest ingredients cooked with the seasons.
Limestone Hotel & Restaurant, West Lulworth - Simple, Fresh, local ingredients make up the seasonally changing menu at The Limstone Hotel. The team of talented chefs there have created a delicious menu, with a focus on working with local suppliers to source sustainable produce and reducing food wastage.
And this year's winner is…
The Ollerod, Beaminster - A great bar, food and wine are at the heart of The Ollerod. The menus are always changing and you will find dishes with influences from all over the world.
A huge congratulations to our winner and our finalists. Thank you to the public for their many nominations, and to our well-respected judges who picked our worthy winner of the 'Formal Dining Experience of the Year Award', sponsored by NFU Mutual Wessex.
