Dorset Food, Drink and Farming Awards 2019: Best Dorset Pub
PUBLISHED: 10:57 27 September 2019
The competition was tough, but our winner wowed with their delicious seasonal menus
This is an all-time favourite category, and it's safe to say that in Dorset we're spoilt for choice when it comes to a proper country pub. The award was kindly sponsored by Hall & Woodhouse, and we asked readers to nominate establishments that offer exceptional food and drink including a wide range of locally brewed real ales. It also needed to have a menu which champions local food and provide a warm welcome to all.
This year's finalists are…
The Acorn Inn, Evershot - The Acorn Inn is complete with two bars and an award-winning restaurant serving a range of exceptional seasonal dishes. It is equally popular with locals and guests alike - and they are proud to have received Gold in the Dorset Tourism Awards last year.
The Wise Man Inn, West Stafford - where traditional village pub meets rustic gastro cuisine, serving locally sourced and seasonal food in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
And this year's winner is…
The Royal Oak, Cerne Abbas - The Royal Oak in Cerne Abbas prides itself on delivering delicious great quality food, with excellent service in a charming 16th century pub setting. The menu changes regularly to include seasonal produce and the freshest of ingredients.
A huge congratulations to our winner and our finalists. Thank you to the public for their many nominations, and to our well-respected judges who picked our worthy winner of the 'Best Dorset Pub', sponsored by Hall & Woodhouse.
