From Galactic Classics to a Symphonic 80s Spectacular, join the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in Meyrick Park for an outdoor extravaganza of music and fireworks

From West End stars and special effects to a totally relaxed setting aimed at families, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's (BSO) Proms in the Park offers music for all generations to enjoy.

This year's Proms in the Park at Meyrick Park, Bournemouth, starts with an afternoon of musical fun with the Relaxed Family Afternoon on Thursday 1 August featuring an orchestral matinee concert of musical treats suitable for younger concert goers with plenty of audience participation and performances by some of the BSO's smaller ensembles.

As 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing, the BSO are marking this milestone with an evening of Galactic Classics on Friday 2 August. The concert features a programme of music inspired by space including the theme music for 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. The concert concludes with a performance of Holst's The Planets accompanied by choreographed lasers, lights, fireworks and a projection of the latest images from our solar system.
