Gemma Branch, Senior Therapist at the Harbour Spa at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel, suggested some beauty treatments to help you keep that sun-kissed look

How can I keep my summer glow?

During September and October we are running a treatment promotion called the Sunset Body Reviver (£55). Your therapist will buff and scrub you from top-to-toe, before applying a gradual tan moisturiser, which will give a light sun-kissed glow and leave the skin feeling silky smooth. It’s perfect for extending your summer glow into the autumn and winter months.

What facial and body treatments would you recommend post summer?

The Espa Personalised Facial, which is tailored to your skin type, includes a good exfoliation which will remove dead or dry skin. The treatment will brighten the complexion and replenish, brighten and smooth tired skin. I would also recommend using a product like Espa Optimal Skin Pro-Defence, an ultra-lightweight serum with an SPF 15. Using a low SPF daily in the autumn and winter will help reduce premature ageing and protect against dark spots that can appear later in life.

For a top-to-toe rejuvenating treatment the Espa Salt and Oil Polish gives an intensive exfoliation, and leaves behind a light oil which is absorbed into the skin. My favourite Espa Salt Scrub to use at home is the ‘invigorating’; its citrus ingredients really do awaken the mind and is perfect in my morning shower.

And for dry and cracked post summer feet?

Pedicures are an essential treatment to have all year round, not just in the summer. Ideally have one about every 6-8 weeks. To pep up tired feet I would recommend the Jessica Zen Spa Pedicure. Your therapist will remove any hard skin and exfoliate your feet, then after the cuticle work and a relaxing massage using a nourishing foot moisturiser, your therapist will paint your toes with your chosen colour, which you can then take home. Perfect if you need to touch up your nails after a couple of weeks!

What treatments from the Harbour Spa menu what would be top of your list?

I have two favourites: The Espa Stimulating Hip and Thigh Treatment which works on areas of stubborn cellulite, it includes a deep exfoliation and intensive massage and is ideal if you are going on holiday to get some winter sun. My second choice would be the Espa Holistic Back, Face and Scalp Massage. For me this is the most relaxing treatment on our menu, it includes a back massage and facial – it’s an hour and a half of total indulgence.

And for a spa day out with the girls?

Probably the Drift Away Afternoon (from £65) which includes one 40 minute treatment and a full afternoon tea. You also have use of the spa facilities from midday. For an after work treat try our Twilight Evening package (from £47.50 per person). It is a lovely way to unwind with the girls.
