Festival of British Archaeology at Chippenham Museum & Heritage Centre 21st July

Join us for a guided walk around the historic and archaeological sites of Chippenham Town Centre. Meet at the Buttercross, in the Market Place (near the museum).

Event: Wednesday 25th July, 10am 4pm - Archaeology Activity Day

Budding Indiana Joness of all ages can get hands-on experience of what its really like to be an archaeologist with hundreds of UK events organised to celebrate the Festival of British Archaeology this summer.

On Wednesday 25th July, Chippenham Museum will be joining in the fun with a special free activity day.

Find out how King Alfred changed history at Chippenham. New for this year will be short walks around the town by King Alfred himself and a special appearance by Kim the Viking.

Plus- Come and learn the ancient skills of flint knapping and metal working with experts Karl Lee and Neil Burridge. Or make your own clay pots, jewellery or mosaics with our education team. There will even be experts on hand to help identify your archaeological finds.
