EXHIBITIONS

Under the Surface: Paintings and carvings by David West - Until 6 January

This exhibition at Dorset County Museum brings together this Dorset artist’s most important works from across 60 years, with many inspired by the county he lives in.


Julian Bailey - 22 November – 13 December

This renowned international artist and member of the New English Art Club, works primarily with oil and gouache and uses the technique of ‘drawing with paint’. The Gallery at Duke’s, Brewery Square.

The Book of Darkness and Light - 1 November

Morgan & West: Time-Travelling Magicians - 3 November

Jane Eyre: An Autobiography - 4 November

Rebecca Vaughan embodies everywoman Jane in this Dyad Production of Brontë’s gothic tale at the Corn Exchange. Box office 01305 266926.


The Slightly Fat Show - 25 November

A rabble rousing troupe of seven extraordinary gentlemen brings their bizarre cabaret to the Corn Exchange. Box office 01305 266926.


MUSIC

Northern Harmony Concert & Workshop - 2 November

These brilliant young musicians have a worldwide reputation for their harmony singing styles from across the globe. Workshop open to all (6-7pm) precedes 7.30pm concert at St Peter’s Church, Dorchester. Box office 01305 266926.


Music at Ashton Barn - 8 November

Violinist Marieke Blankestijn and clarinettist Richard Hosford are joined by members of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in a concert of chamber music masterpieces at Ashton Barn, Martinstown. Box office 01305 266926.


Peter and the Wolf - 12 November

With new music inspired by Prokofiev’s classic, Goblin Theatre takes the duo camping in this family friendly version at the Corn Exchange at 2pm & 4.30pm. Box office 01305 266926.


Tim Kliphuis Trio - 15 November

With genre-mashing interpretations of gypsy jazz, folk and classical music, Kliphuis is making waves in concert halls across the globe, including this Dorset County Museum Music Society Concert at 7.30pm. 


The Enchantress of Seville - 26 November

Joglaresa, the groundbreaking medieval music ensemble, explore the roots of Iberian song from secular motets to Judeo-Spanish romanzas at the Corn Exchange. Box office 01305 266926.
