Organisers are celebrating the huge success of this year’s Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival, which attracted the largest crowd the event has ever seen.

The multi-award-winning Festival, held at Weymouth Harbour over the weekend of the 12 - 13 July, was blessed with glorious weather and a myriad of stallholders provided a mouth-watering selection of tasty fish dishes. The star of the show was the humble Weymouth whelk which is undergoing a renaissance thanks to the Great British Whelk Revival headed up by local chef Taher Jibet. Taher, of the Dining Room in Weymouth, served up thousands of tasty whelks which went down a storm with eager foodies keen to try this local delicacy. Plans for next year’s event have already started and the provisional dates are 11 - 12 July 2015. For more details visit dorsetseafood.co.uk.
