Bournemouth Sevens Festival returns to Dorset’s Sunny Shores

Now in it's third year the Bournemouth Sevens Festival is an action packed weekend of sport, music and entertainment.

Now in its third year the Bournemouth Sevens Festival is an action packed weekend of sport, music and entertainment.

Held over the May Bank Holiday weekend on the 29th& 30th May; 20, 000 people descend on Bournemouth Sports Clubs 65 acres of picturesque land.

England international rugby players, sporting legends and celebrities will all be in attendance in the exclusive V.VIP marquee. Regular at the festival, Strictly Come Dancing and England International, Austin Healey, commented,

Bournemouth Sevens is not just a festival of rugby; its so much more with music, netball and entertainment for both adults and the kids. Im so impressed with the magnitude of the event which is why I keep coming back year on year.

Corporate entertainment is housed in the luxury pitch-side V.VIP marquee where guests are greeted with a 5 star grill on Saturday, a charity auction, private bar and DJs as well as entry to Sundays VIP closing party which lots of A list celebrities cant wait to get their hands on!

The festival is a whole weekend of entertainment with live bands and DJs entertaining the crowds from the festival stage and beer marquees. A spectacular parachute display from the Black Knights display team will be landing on the National Invitation pitch at an impressive 120 mph.

Described as a combination of V Festival, Dubai Sevens and Cartier Cup Polo, Bournemouth Sevens is the ultimate festival weekend. The event creates a unique carnival atmosphere with fancy dress a must for all festival revelers; SKY, BBC and ITV are all broadcasting from the event so costumes must stand for your chance to get on TV!

Roger Woodall, Director of Diamond Sports Events, realised there was a unique opportunity to create the largest sport and music event of its kind in the World.

In its first year Bournemouth Sevens became the flagship sport and music festival in the UK and is rivaling the likes of Dubai and Hong Kong Sevens! This is a great festival for Dorset as theres nothing like it in the county at the moment comments Woodall.

The National Netball Festival will be running alongside the rugby event, with 88 teams competing to be crowned Bournemouth Sevens Champions. England internationals and Superleague players will all be playing in the National Invitation Cup.

The thousands of netballers attending the event will also have access to the onsite camping village for 3,000 people, which is just a stones throw away from the action. The camping village will provide hot showers, amenities and its own shop ensuring festival-goers have everything they need for the ultimate festival experience.

Children will be kept amused for hours with bouncy castles, face painting, climbing walls and quad bikes in the Kids Zone.

For more information on the festival visit www.BournemouthSevens.com or call 01202 545630. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster and the BIC.
