The Tinderbox - Friday 2 December
Yetminster St Andrew’s Primary School
A roguish soldier acquires a magic tinderbox which gives him the power to summon three extraordinary dogs to do his bidding. Watch the soldier’s remarkable roller coaster adventure in this stunning rendition by the Norwich Puppet Theatre of Hans Christian Andersen’s magical tale.
Christmas Lights & Market - Friday 2 December
This year’s Festive Light Event has a Pantomime theme. Parade starts at 6.30pm from Town Hall, with live performances from forthcoming pantomimes on stage at The Town Meadow. Also Christmas Market, live music, street food and children’s rides.
Cinderella - From Saturday 3 December
Spectacular costumes, comedy capers and real ponies feature in this family panto at Bournemouth Pavilion with a star cast including Dani Harmer (CBBC’s Tracey Beaker & BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing) as Cinders. Box office 0844 576 3000.
Symondsbury Estate Christmas Market - Saturday 3 December
Taking place at Manor Yard just outside Bridport, it includes Santa’s Grotto, Secret Present Service, Carol Singing, Mulled Wine and a variety of stalls selling a fabulous array of Christmas gifts. Runs 10am -7pm.
Christmas Gift & Crafr Fair - Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December
Highcliffe Castle hosts this popular local arts and crafts market which provides a rich hunting ground for unusual presents. Runs 10am – 4pm.
Christmas Lights - Saturday 3 December
Christmas entertainment starts at 2pm including ice skating displays on the outdoor rink, performances from local dance groups and music from local choirs. Wave at Santa and his parade as he goes to his Grotto located in Cineworld.
Stroll around Sherborne - Sunday 4 December
Enjoy a gentle stroll around historic Sherborne with Blue Badge Guide, Cindy Chant. Starts 2pm from Sherborne TIC – no need to pre-book, cost £5.
