The participating English and European teams, draw and further details including ticket prices will be released on the club's official website on Friday 24th June.

AFC Bournemouth is delighted to announce that the newly named Seward Stadium will be hosting the EC Group Cup in July, the towns first inter-European pre-season tournament.

'The EC Group Cup' will take place on Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th of July, with two semi-finals on the first day, and the final day hosting third place play off and final.

The participating English and European teams, draw and further details including ticket prices will be released on the club's official website on Friday 24th June.

The total prize fund is in excess of 150,000, and is being donated by the tournament sponsor Energy Consulting Group, Europes leading audit and consulting organisation. The company are using the tournament to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their launch in 2001.

Energy Consulting Group Chairman Michael Ponomarev said: The aim of the EC Group Cup is to create a real buzz on the south coast of England and offer our chosen football clubs a chance to participate in competitive matches before their seasons start.

I am sure that our excellent partnership with AFC Bournemouth will provide the supporters with a tournament to remember, and maybe even the beginning of an annual competition.

Deputy Chairman of the board of directors of Energy Consulting Group, and the former Minister of Economics for Germany, Wolfgang Clement said: Sports - and in particular football unite people all over the world.

Our participation in this event is an example of the successful cooperation between Russian and European business that we see today.

AFC Bournemouth Chairman Eddie Mitchell said: "The EC Group Cup provides us with a massive opportunity to showcase Bournemouth as a top footballing destination.

The prize fund has attracted some very impressive teams, and we are excited to be hosting them on the south coast.

We aim to make the weekend a festival of football, with events and attractions for all the family, as well as the exciting action on the pitch."

Bournemouth Manager Lee Bradbury said: "Fletch and I are really looking forward to what will be a fun, but testing addition to our pre-season schedule.

The EC Group Cup will provide the team with a unique and competitive challenge, a trophy and something to really fight for at a time when most other teams will be going through the motions.

I can't think of a better way to prepare for the season ahead."
