Solatube light pipes – adding the designer touch

Chard based installers, CommonSense Solatubes, is the authorised dealer for whole of the south west and has installed hundreds of units throughout Somerset, Devon and Dorset.

Dramatically lighting up dark areas of your home by piping daylight down a Solatube light pipe is nothing new. Chard based installers, CommonSense Solatubes, is the authorised dealer for whole of the south west and has installed hundreds of units throughout Somerset, Devon and Dorset.

Always looking to improve and offer more, the company is delighted to announce the release of the brand new Glass Distractions range of decorative home fixtures. Providing a more cutting-edge alternative to the existing range of diffusers, these stylish new glass fixtures add a sleek, contemporary look to the finish of your Solatube, combining brilliant daylight delivery, with the elegance of glass.

The Tier Drop is made from triple layered, frosted, tempered safety glass and offers an aesthetically enhanced alternative to the standard diffusers.

JustFrost is an elegant glass option created from a single layer of frosted, tempered safety glass.

Both are suitable for all 'twist fit' Solatubes.

NEW Effect lenses too. If you like to change the lighting effect and mood in your room then a Solatube can help you achieve this too. Simply incorporate one of the new Effects Lenses and you can subtly alter the colour and intensity of the daylight from natural light to warm, softening or relaxed light.

Warmer, quieter and brighter too

In addition to the new glass decorative ceiling fixtures, Solatubes have improved on an already impressive thermal performance U-value of 1.3, and can now be supplied to Passive House standards. Thats means a U-value as low as 0.5 more than enough to ensure you stay warm in the winter and cool during the summer. Plus you can also benefit from a quieter home as the accoustic performance of a Solatube is also enhanced at the same time: Less noise coming inside from roads, trains or aircraft and less sound reaching outside from noisy children and musicians that might annoy the neighbours!
