Become a Buckham Fair sponsor and you could meet Martin Clunes

Would you like to meet Martin Clunes, raise money for a Dorset charity and enjoy a fabulous day out at a traditional country fair? Well you can if you become a sponsor of Buckham Fair Dog and Pony Show.

The fundraising fair, which is to be held on 18 August, was established in 2008 by Doc Martin star Martin Clunes and his wife Philippa and to date has raised over £112,000 for local charities.

At the heart of the fair, which is held on the Clunes’ farm near Beaminster, is the ever-popular dog shows; the novelty classes such as Waggiest Tail and Best Trick are personally judged by Martin, who will also judge the Grand Final of the Rescue Dog of the Year. If you would like to enter Best Rescue Dog you’ll find a list of the local qualifying dog shows at buckhamfair.co.uk.

Alongside the dog shows and displays are the pony gymkhana and heavy horse village where Martin’s Clydesdales Ronnie and Bruce will make an appearance. Other entertainment includes a fun fair with dodgems, helter-skelter and carousel and a delicious local Food Court.

“We couldn’t put Buckham Fair on without our incredibly generous Sponsors, which include both local businesses and individuals,” says Philippa. One of those key sponsors is Pardoes Solicitors. “As a local business with strong roots in the area we very much hope the Fair will raise another significant sum for this year’s charity, the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust,” says Pardoes Partner and Buckham Fair Committee Member, Bhavani Hogarty. “We would encourage other local businesses to be a sponsor too. The Fair gets significant media coverage and has become the ‘local’ event of the summer and is the perfect community forum for community-spirited businesses to be involved in and to be seen at.”

Opportunity to judge ‘Sponsor’s Dog Class’ plus a personal quote in the magazine, a banner on display at the fair, a photo with Martin on the day for Dorset magazine’s Social Diary, a full page advert in Programme of Events & 10 tickets.

£250 Corporate Sponsor: Photo with Martin on the day for Dorset magazine’s Social Diary. Quarter page advert in Programme of Events & 3 tickets to Buckham Fair.

£100 Personal Sponsorship: Photo with Martin, lunch at the Judges’ Tent & 2 tickets.

£50 - £25 Local Businesses or Individuals: Sponsors listed in Programme of Events and given opportunity to advertise in the Programme of Events.
